Louis Poole & Ellen Delaney make a perfect pair for April’s exhibit!
We’re bringing together a Richmond favorite with a new comer to the RVA whose work truly relates to each other. Poole’s signature draft lines he extends off his rooftops match Delaney’s sensibilities perfectly as she was a former architect before becoming a full time professional artist. There is also a commonality in the subject matter where Louis focuses on rural homes; Ellen focuses on the wide expanses of rural landscapes. The marriage of bold colors will also complement each other.
“We always strives for visually arresting pairings brought together by common ground but I think this show has gotten us closer to the bulls eye then maybe ever before” starts Bj Kocen. “I know this will be a strong exhibit because the context is ripe for Virginians. I love shows that encourage patrons to get a little wanderlust. Whether they ponder getting more daylight on their skin or hopping in the car to ride some back roads, when art reminds you to pour as much wonderment and joy in each passing moment you are having an unspoken conversation with the artist and their work.”
