March 4th-26th (opening reception on the 4th from 6-8pm)
GALLERY TALK: Saturday March 12th at 11:30 AM
The Herd is back, ya heard!?
Greg Osterhaus and his firm grip on the Richmond art market seems to be getting tighter and tighter. New clients continue to discover his vibrant palette and throw themselves into the frenzy that is a new work exhibit by Greg. It’s because year after year he continues to push that palette into new directions. He discovers new light, new perspectives and new techniques to apply to his subjects he never grows tired of; the cows, the landscape of rural Virginia, and of course the barns and country structures that reside within. His preview list is extensive and many works still pre sell before opening night.
The million dollar question was answered unprompted by Osterhaus when he joined Facebook last year and posted this statement:
” …this week i have been concentrating on painting more cow paintings. LAST WEEK? I concentrated on cow paintings. NEXT WEEK? I’ve been thinking a lot about it but you know I think I’m going to spend time working on some dang cow paintings. DO YOU EVER GET BORED PAINTING COWS? No. next question. Just kidding I am very glad you asked and I applaud your probing curiosity. The answer is simple ... "no i don't get tired of painting cows"... but let me ask you something for a change if you don't mind. Do you ever get tired of eating your favorite food? Do you ever get tired of your favorite song?”
It is obvious from the many other posts on Facebook that Greg has a lot to say about his work and in a very charming way I might add. It is with this sentiment that we are glad to announce that for the first time since Greg starting showing at glave kocen that he has agreed to a gallery talk. We are thrilled that Greg has agreed to give his patrons a little more insight into his work and another opportunity to spend some time with him during his annual exhibit.
