For Immediate Release
“Click” is back for a 4th installment!
After a four year hiatus, The Click exhibit is back with a banging selection of photographers courtesy of curators Scott Elmquist of Style Weekly and BJ Kocen of the glave kocen gallery. Photographers mainly from the RVA but all from Virginia will help relay the mission of this exhibit once again; to show the beauty and depth of photography through a wide range of process and perspective. Click also prides itself on bringing together pro shooters alongside emerging photographers who for some this is their first exhibition experience. Each photo will be accompanied by information for the gear heads (Camera used, type of print) as well as an artist statement AND a curator statement explaining why that particular photo was selected.
As of press time, Seventeen photographers are participating in the exhibit. From the pinhole works by Steve Griffin to the fantastical photomontages of Tom Chambers, the exhibit truly covers ground on the limitless art of photography. Brent Cavedo gives us two twists on water scenes that gave pause to Scott and Bj as they were reviewing his portfolio. "Have you ever seen a reflection like that !?" Lanvi Nguyen deconstructs her images and reassembles them as 3-D sculpture. We have panoramic atmosphere views from Andy Snow and Rebecca D'Angelo and perfectly toned abstracts from the likes of Alex Nyerges and Zachary Reid.
It's amazing as well as to what lengths a photographer might go to capture a photo. Jude Dizon put his life in danger to capture one of his two photos which hopefully he will reveal at our, "Click & Tell" Gallery Talk on Feb 17th. We'll invite all the photographers to come and tell their story about their photo as that can be just as fascinating as the finished product.
Click IV will open Friday, February 2nd with an opening reception from 6-8 PM and run through the 24th.
